Overview
Rivemo is a service developed by AleaPro and Rivemo Srl. I had the opportunity to participate in this project as an Android developer from 2018 to 2020. The service is essentially a delivery system for goods and services, primarily targeting the beach environment. It is not just about food delivery, it also caters to other beach-related accessories. The core issue this service aimed to resolve was the inconvenience of people wanting to order food or beach accessories while at the beach, without the need to physically go to the store.

Technical Details
The solution we devised was an application which allows the user to order from any store that is affiliated with Rivemo, in the beach locality. The ordered items would then be delivered directly to the user’s location at the beach entrance. I developed this project in Java, and worked on it for two years as an Android developer (I no longer maintain the project). In the process, I interacted with a PHP backend and also worked with payment APIs, as there was a paywall to manage. The paywall was implemented using Braintree by PayPal.
Availability
During the pandemic, the application was utilized in the Pordenone (North-Eastern Italy) province as a focal point to jumpstart various activities, especially those related to the restaurant industry. The activities had come to a halt during the pandemic and Rivemo was one of the first applications to be used to transition restaurants to the delivery model in a short span of time.
