Overview
Foodlist was a mobile app that I developed as a Cofounder and Fullstack developer in a team of 5 people.
The project’s goal was to help users decide where to eat out in their city, but with a fundamentally different search paradigm: instead of searching for restaurants, users searched for specific dishes.
For this project, my team and I developed:
- A mobile app for searching dishes
- A restaurant backoffice for menu management
- An automated data collection system that gathered information about Italian restaurants and their dishes through public APIs.
From an engineering perspective, this was a fascinating project, as the data collection process presented significant technical challenges and complexities that we had to overcome.
The project was eventually discontinued due to founder disagreements and is no longer available on app stores.
Tech Stack
From a technological perspective, we developed the mobile app for iOS and Android using React Native, and the backend with KoaJS.
The backoffice frontend was developed using React.
